What is Participate Community?
Isolation is one of the most significant and least talked about challenges facing people with disability. Community is not just good for wellbeing; it is a fundamental part of a life well lived. Our Participate Community support breaks down the barriers between you and the social, recreational, and civic life you deserve.
We do not just take you somewhere and stand nearby. We actively help you engage, support your participation, help you navigate new situations with confidence, and make sure the places you go are actually accessible when we arrive.
What's Included
- Access to sport, fitness, and recreational activities
- Attendance at community events, festivals, and cultural activities
- Volunteering support including finding opportunities and getting involved
- Social outings to cafés, cinemas, shopping, parks, and leisure venues
- Joining clubs, hobby groups, and local organisations
- Cultural venue access including libraries, galleries, and performing arts
- Day trips and short breaks with supported travel
- Maintaining family connections and valued friendships
We start by understanding what community actually means to you, not what a support plan says you should be doing. Your interests, cultural background, and social comfort level all shape how we design your participation support. Then we show up, warm and confident, and make it happen.
